https://www.oliviawireless.com/

Data cost on Light Hotspots are going to be Low

24:18 — Q/A — Are you using RUT240 ?

Yes. RUT240, IBR200 or IBR650C (Expensive),
Have heard of others successfully using a GL-X750

25:17 — Q/A — College Dorm

You can use a Wifi Hotspot. You can also try to use a Mango (GL-MT300N-V2) with a VPN

26:32 — Light Hotspots Data Useage

Regular (current) Hotspots spikes to 450 mbps.
Light Hotspots use 800 bps to 1 kpbs

27:22 — Q/A — If the network becomes successful will the data earnings offset a cell router SIM card plan?

Depends how much data is flowing through the hotspot. In many cases, no. For the next few months, the focus on earnings will be on PoC earnings, NOT data earnings.

28:12 — Q/A — How much does wind effect an antenna?

Lower gain antennas with a wide pattern, not so much. On higher (9+) gain with narrower patterns, the swing will effect signal.

31:07 — Wifi Smart Plug

TP-Link or Kasa

32:30 — Q/A — How to do easy payouts?

Hotspotty
-Contacts
-Generate Reports

44:50 — Koinly — https://koinly.io/
Works well with TurboTax

45:42 — Replacing SD Card in RAK — https://docs.helium.com/troubleshooting/replace-sd-card/

02_17 Hotspots won’t upgrade but synced — Try Quay for the latest updates. That’s what I (Nik) use for DIY, not sure how it will work for a production, but that’s where most of the manufacturers pull from. Synchrobit and Kerlink compile the miner from scratch and don’t use Docker.

51:59 — Offgrid on Water Tower with other radios (cell placements)

  • Interference depends on power the cell antennas are putting out
  • Vertical Offset of at least 5m, in some cases 25m required for full power cell towers.
  • Saw Filter or Cavity Filter options
  • Water stops radio waves, so think about placement.

Questions for Next Week
